  At least 4 Hummingbirds this morning at Butler Prairie.  Lucky to catch this one during takeoff.  They are unbelievably fast and hard to catch on camera.   Great documentary on Prime tells that Hummingbirds need to eat every 15 min, can control their heartbeat from 30-1200 bpm, can hover and fly in any direction and somehow can fly long non-stop distances over the Gulf of Mexico.   Caught this guy sunbathing on the White River today.

  A new photo style for me around water.  ND Filter with polarizer.  Color correction in post. Lighthouse, St. Joseph, MI

  A lot of fun watching Rocky play in the water.                        

Pictures from a weekend get-a-way touring St. Joseph and Holland Michigan.  Weather was perfect.  Took some long exposures (approx. 6 sec) with ND filter and 35 mm prime to smooth out the harbor water.  The others were with the 18-140mm.  The D5300 is a great travel camera.  Really enjoy its articulating screen for many shots.
